2nd Amendment – Right to Bear Arms?

The 2nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution seems rather straightforward to me: There is a purpose “Awell regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state…” and there is the expressed Right “…the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” So why does the nation’s Supreme Court ignore the purpose of this Amendment and grant “the right of the people to keep and bear arms”?
